From Children of the Corn to Field of Dreams, the cornfields of the midwest have long been seen as contemplative, mystical objects. GRNASFCK proposes to grow a future cornfield in an office environment. The Future Cornfield is sourced from bio-engineered and heirloom seeds. It is opportunistic in scale, occupying office furniture and available space within the office. As it grows over a period of 120 days, lit by full-spectrum seasonal affective disorder lights, Future Cornfield provides relief from the bitter Chicago winter and makes a space for collective mediation.
