On February 2, over 5,000 Yemeni-owned bodegas went on strike against Trump's Muslim travel ban. Variations of this sign appeared in the windows of the closed shops. These signs, designed spontaneously by bodega owners, made both crisis and solidarity legible -- and the critical importance of both action and  expanded definition of "family" to encompass a community.
